MAP Foundation was established in 1996 to advocate for the rights and health of migrant workers from Burma. Now, MAP has four programs – Labour Rights for All, Rights for All, Community Health and Empowerment, and MAP Multimedia (www.mapfoundationcm.org).
MAP Foundation is seeking a committed and energetic woman to lead the project titled Realizing women migrant workers’ rights and opportunities in the ASEAN region supported by UN Women. This project is implemented by three organisations: Foundation for Labour and Employment Promotion (FLEP), the Migrant Women Project (Maesot) and MAP Foundation. The aim of this project is to enhance quality service delivery and access for women migrant workers to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, violence against women and human trafficking. The project leader will be part of the Rights For All program team. The primary focus of the Rights for All program is on women migrants and dependents, including children and youth.
The Project leader’s responsibilities include:
Coordinate with local CBOs, community leaders, government agencies and partner organizations, with the support of the Programme Coordinator
Design workplan, budget plans in collaboration with RFA Programme coordinator
Write quarterly narrative reports and send to the coordinator
Organise meetings with local CBO, community leaders, the central working group, and with the network of service providers (government agencies and partner organizations) to collect and share information that will support advocacy for policy changes
Organise trainings for CBO, NGO and government representatives to improve the access to government services and all current protection mechanisms by migrant women facing Gender Based Violence
Collect and consolidate information for MAP Foundation media team to share content on MAP’s facebook fan pages, website and radio
In collaboration with partners, conduct national level awareness raising public campaigns
We are looking for a woman who:
Has solid understanding of women’s rights, Gender Based Violence and is committed to promote migrants’ rights
Has solid interpersonal skills and is open to cultural diversity
Has excellent Thai language skills (written and spoken) and good English skills (written)
Has experience in organizing and facilitating meetings and trainings
Is willing to work flexible hours when needed and can travel
This position is based in Chiang Mai
Available to start work as soon as possible
This is a contracted position. Salary is 15,000B for the total duration of the project (until September 2022).
