Gender expert
Kenan Foundation Asia (Kenan), in partnership with UN Women and the European Union, is implementing WeEmpowerAsia – Thailand. The project will increase women’s leadership, participation, and access to business opportunities in the private sector, contributing to advancing sustainable and inclusive growth. It aims to achieve this through awareness raising activities, and engaging with governments and private sector companies in policies and dialogues to advance women’s economic empowerment. The project will also provide tailored training to help women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses (WOBs) to overcome gender-specific challenges and barriers in expanding their networks, accessing finance, and growing their enterprise.

As part of the WeEmpowerAsia Thailand extended team, the gender expert will contribute to enhancing entrepreneurship skills for female entrepreneurs and small business owners through training and capacity building activities.

Contract length: 10 days during (February – May)
key responsibilities
The gender expert’s roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to
Participate in online training of trainers, tentatively for three half-days, organized by UN Women, to learn about UN Women’s entrepreneurship curriculum and provide inputs to the curriculum to ensure the gender lens is fully integrated
Review, provide inputs and assure the quality of the translated and localized gender-inclusive entrepreneurship curriculum, tools, and materials, based on the UN Women’s training materials, for local women entrepreneurs and WOBs in particular.
Co-conduct online and/or offline entrepreneurship skills training workshops (10 hours/3 half days) to approximately 40 female entrepreneurs and WOBs.
Contribute to the design of a half-day event to provide women entrepreneurs and WOBs with opportunities to connect with investors/funding sources, business networks within the supply chain, business mentors, and business networks at executive levels.
qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in gender-related fields
Degree in Gender and Development or other social sciences, master’s degree preferred
Substantial knowledge and understanding of gender and development. Knowledge of entrepreneurship is a plus.
Robust experience in conducting training, and curriculum development.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai
