Background/IRC Summary:
The IRC’s Livelihoods program in Thailand works with cross-sector partners to innovate upskilling, market networking and access, and entrepreneurship development for refugees and migrants living in seven refugee camps and urban areas in Thailand. The IRC’s Livelihoods program aim to build refugees on livelihoods capacity and increase livelihoods opportunity for self-reliance and self- sufficiency to meet their basic need and preparation for return. To increase access to livelihoods opportunities, IRC Livelihoods program provide refugee with market-relevant skills and knowledge, the technical employability skills and financial management skills, through Language skills trainings, Enterprise Fund project, Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA), Mentorship Program, E-commerce project and External Market projects.
Job Overview/Summary:
Due to the global issue of Covid-19 outbreak, most people's livelihoods activities were affected especially the vulnerable groups including the refugees. Refugees have faced limited access to most services including livelihood services. Moreover, IRC staffs cannot get access to the camps and refugees in the camps also cannot gather for a big group meetings or trainings due to social distancing practice. Therefore, IRC Livelihoods Program initiated Learn@Home and Earn from Home project. This project aimed to be an alternative opportunity for the refugees to be able to learn by their own about basic business skills, with the provided study tools such as textbook, video clips, worksheets, and group support. To be able to provide tutorial videos as a learning tool, IRC livelihood needs a video making consultant to take this responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The video making consultant is responsible to organize, adapt, create the animation videos as one of the learning tools under the supervision of Livelihood Officer (Aung Thant Oo) by performing the follow tasks.
- The consultant is responsible to design and create the animation videos according to the learning contexts
- The Consultant will be responsible to translate the videos both in Karen and Burmese languages
- Manipulate and edit animation videos in a way that is invisible to the audience
- Review script and raw material to create animation videos
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of animation videos
- Input dialogues, graphics, and effects
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Post-secondary or higher, completed videos editing course and animation making trainings
Work Experience: Experience in video editing, animation making and translation
Demonstrated skills:
Languages and computer skills: English, Karen and Burmese. Strong skills in WORDS, and Editing
