The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is an international non-governmental organization working globally to protect people and the planet.
EJF is working to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and human rights abuses on fishing vessels and actively promote improvements to policy- making, corporate governance and management of fisheries.
EJF is seeking to employ a 'Thailand Campaign Consultant' to help identify key risk areas in distant water fishing fleets. This position will include speaking to and interviewing fishing vessel crews to hear about their experiences as well as field observations alongside EJF campaigners and government agencies.
Successful candidates should be fluent in Bahasa Indonesian and either Thai or English. They should be comfortable working independently and be confident in conducting independent qualitative-based research work. Candidates should also be prepared to travel within Thailand, potentially at short notice. Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic this position is subject to change.
Post Title: Thailand Campaign Consultant
Contract duration: Initial 3 month contract with opportunity to extend.
Time commitment: Initially part-time at minimum 2-3 days per week - Flexible working days. This will include elements of field work as well as desk-based research, interview and document translation.
Compensation: 12,000 - 18,000 baht per month based on part-time basis.
Location: Bangkok based with need to travel often.
