The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) is an international non-governmental organization working globally to protect people and the planet.
EJF is working in Thailand to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and human rights abuses on fishing vessels and actively promote improvements to policy- making, corporate governance and management of fisheries.
EJF is seeking to employ a 'Policy and research officer' to help identify key risk areas in Thailand's fisheries industry. This position will include conducting field investigations and observations alongside EJF campaigners as well as engaging with key government agencies, private sector actors and partner organizations to evaluate and improve monitoring and enforcement mechanisms.
Successful candidates should be comfortable working independently and be confident in: conducting independent field-based research work; public speaking including at high-profile meetings. Candidates should also be prepared to travel within Thailand, potentially at short notice. Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic this position is subject to change.
Post Title: Policy and research officer
Type of appointment / duration: Full-time permanent position with an initial 3 month probation period.
Compensation: 50,000 - 60,000 baht per month, depending on experience.
Location: Bangkok based with need to travel often.
This position is open to Thai citizens only.
