Location: Flexible, between +6 to +10 time zones.

Cuttlefish Digital is a start-up digital communications agency focused on developing and delivering targeted digital campaigns to clients focusing on climate action and energy transition in the Asia Pacific region. As part of a global network of more than 140 communicators, researchers, marketers, and advocacy strategists, we partner with some of Asia’s most influential advocacy organisations to help accelerate the transition to clean energy.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced digital marketer and campaigner, fluent in Mandarin and English, to work in partnership with a global coalition of organisations working for stronger action on climate and energy policy.
As part of this role you will:
Create, source and publish written and visual content, in English and Mandarin, to engage target audiences with campaign content.
Plan, place, and evaluate the performance of paid and organic digital marketing campaigns.
Contribute to the development and implementation of an audience engagement strategy.
Support GSCC partners to develop and implement digital marketing activities, in line with climate and energy priorities in South East and East Asia when required.
Identify new trends in the digital space and integrate them into your work where appropriate.
Participate in regular planning and strategy meetings with colleagues and campaign partners to align work with communications, mobilisation, and campaigning objectives.
Co-create and develop digital engagement plans with volunteers and activists.
Manage external agencies and freelancers when required.
Oversee digital advertising spend to agreed budgets.
Oversee reporting and data analysis on behalf of the campaign team.
This is a new role with a growing team, so there’s plenty of scope to make this your own from the ground up.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Fluent in Mandarin, and comfortable working with colleagues English.
3-5 years experience developing and delivering digital marketing campaigns.
Strong written and visual communication skills, including experience devising framing for diverse audiences.
Experience placing ad campaigns using Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Proven experience of using data and analytics to design and monitor social media communications.
Experience in project management, including scheduling, budget, time management across multiple projects and time zones.
A working knowledge of Chinese social media and digital platforms including Weibo, WeChat, and streaming social media sites would be highly regarded.
Able to work independently and as part of a fully distributed, global team.
Knowledge of or interest in climate change and its impacts in the Asia Pacific region.
Experience working in a start-up or agency environment.
Candidates must be fluent in Mandarin and comfortable working in English. Knowledge in one or more of Bengali, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, or Vietnamese would be an advantage.
DATES OF CONSULTANCY
This is a 12-month fixed term contract (including a 3 month probationary period), with a possibility of extension.
