Position: Malaria Dataset Designer in Thailand: Consultancy
Reports to: Jui Shah, Chief of Party (COP)
Level of effort: As soon as possible to December 31, 2020. 40 Days.
Purpose of Assignment: Provide information technology (IT) assistance to the Division of Vector-Borne Disease (DVBD) to design and installation of new essential datasets in its malaria information system (MIS).
Assignment: RTI International is implementing Inform Asia: United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID’s) Health Research Program. The goal is to support malaria elimination in Thailand by 2024 and in Lao PDR by 2030 through the following three intermediate results (IRs):
The MIS currently features several dashboards and datasets that autopopulate indicators of interest in real time. Data elements that are not included in one of these standardized dashboards and datasets are stored in the MIS, available to data users only through manual extraction by the IT-DVBD team.
The consultant will support IT-DVBD to design three new datasets for the MIS that capture meaningful indicators:
This work aims to address evolving data needs, generate strategic information, and facilitate data use to accelerate malaria elimination in Thailand.
The consultant will be functional in both Thai and English languages, and he/she will have strong relational database knowledge. The consultant will also understand SQL commands and be familiar with Microsoft SQL servers.
Specific work and deliverables:
Write narrative progress updates to support quarterly program reporting and other ad hoc reporting requests, as required.
