Role overview
This is a fixed-term contract position
This is an exciting role that you can improve the capacity of youth-led CSOs (YLCs), empower youth as agents of change, and support them in demanding an enabling environment to participate in Thailand’s development and governance. Your role will ensure Voice of Youth project is implemented to the highest standards; effectively manage Project team, budgets, activities, risk and donor reporting and accountability processes.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge/qualifications:
• Qualification in project management (PMD Pro, Prince II, PMP) and/or international development and /or equivalent experience
Experience:
• Substantial experience in managing grants and contracts preferably EU and DFID grant funded project
(at least GBP 400,000 per annum) within the international development sector
• Experience in youth engagement, community and volunteer mobilisation with good understanding of
development issues in Thailand, skills in policy and advocacy to amplify voice of young people with
community participation with commitments to Social Inclusion & Gender, Social Accountability and
Resilience integration in programming
• Experience of building and managing a high performing multi-cultural dispersed project team of staff,
volunteers and partners
• Experience in working in and leading partnerships and consortia
• Experience in security and risk management, and in managing duty of care to highest international
standards
Skills required:
• Project donor management
• People management and engagement (skills in coaching, mentoring and developing team
• Partnership, engagement and collaboration across multiple cultural contexts
• Verbal and written communications in English and Thai
• Financial and budget management
• Evidence based decision making
• Data and system management; IT literacy (Microsoft, finance, project management, people
management software)
Demonstrable ability to
• Enhance volunteering for development approach, uphold and position global volunteer standards
with understanding of role of volunteering in the country development context
• Build alliances and networks and manage partnership within and outside the organisation,
• Represent VSO and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Facilitate a dialogue and engage with people at all levels
• Contribute to setting the future direction in response to anticipated changes in the external
environment
• an organisational culture of excellence, accountability and continuous performance improvement
• Equip, engage and empower people to solve problems, make decisions and deliver the best possible
results
• travel including work away from the home base for upto 40% of time, both within the country and
occasionally internationally

Desired selection criteria
• Practical experience within a volunteering NGO context in managing a volunteer programming

Travel requirements
• Willingness to travel and spend time away from base/home as required.
