ABOUT APCOM AND THE POSITION

 

Founded in 2007, APCOM is a coalition of members – governments, UN partners, non-profits and community based organisations – from Asia and the Pacific. APCOM represent a diverse range of interests working together to advocate on, highlight and prioritise HIV and human rights issues that affect the lives of men who have sex with men (MSM)[1] and transgender people in Asia and the Pacific. Our goals are to improve the well-being of MSM and transgender people in the region through increased investment, coverage and quality of sexual health services and human rights protection.

 

Working under Programme, Advocacy and Campaign Unit, the Consultant is assigned to assist the implementation of APCOM’s TestBKK campaign. TestBKK is a behavioural change communication campaign that aims to increase the uptake of HIV services among young Thai gay men living in Bangkok.

SCOPE OF WORK

In general, the scope of work for the consultancy is to assist APCOM Senior Campaign Coordinator and APCOM Campaign Coordinator in:

  • procuring the campaign materials with various production and printing vendors
  • liaising with external communication partners such as advertiser, video production companies and event management firms
  • liaising with the campaign’s clinical, community and technical partners
  • administering the campaign’s material’s inventory, distribution and budgeting
  • superintending the campaign’s outreach event (i.e, White Party 2018 and gCircuit SK18)
  • managing campaign’s social media channels (Facebook, YouTube and Instagram)
  • providing Thai and/or English translation for the campaign’s copy (i.e., text for advertising, caption for social media post, video script, etc)
  • producing the campaign’s blogs and other content marketing items in Thai and/or English language
  • monitoring the campaign’s website functionality

 REQUIREMENTS

 

  • A Thai national
  • A minimum of bachelor degree from any study fields
  • A student who is still enrolled with a university is allowed to apply as long as he/she can commit full time during APCOM office hours (8 hours per day, with a choice of starting working hours at 9AM, 9.30AM or 10AM)
  • Fluent in speaking Thai and English
  • Good writing skill in Thai and English
  • Strong negotiation skill
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Familiar with managing Facebook, YouTube and Instagram
  • Familiar or willing to work with Drupal web content manager
