Contract Type: Independent Contract (Non-Grade) 

 Duration of Work:  10 days

Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.

Job Overview/Summary: The International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) Health Program operates in seven refugee camps along the Thailand-Myanmar border: Mae La, Nupo and Umpiem Mai in Tak province, Tham Hin in Ratchaburi province, Ban Don Yang in Kanchanaburi province, and Ban Mai Nai Soi and Ban Mae Surin in Mae Hong Son province. The IRC works in partnership with camp-based assistants (CBA) and provide payment on an incentive basis in the delivery of health services to the refugees in these camps, the IRC is reviewing its current CBA positions and stipend structure to promote alignment with the organization’s priorities, to enhance equity and to provide incentive, not only for increased performance, but also quality across the refugee camps that it operates in.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Program Assistant will: (1) analyze and consolidate the CBA positions in each category based on job functions and the stipend levels and; (2) identify the lowest stipend for each position or job function and provide recommendations for alignment.

Deliverables:

  1. CBA aligned position and job function summary table.
  2. Identification of stipends for each job function that requires an adjustment.
  3. Written recommendation for positions and stipend alignment.

Term of payment: Lump sum at the end of the consultancy period (THB 1,250 per working day).                                   

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school certificate. Bachelor degree is an advantage.

Demonstrated skills: Computer literate

Languages skills: Demonstrated good reading, written and spoken Burmese, Karen and Thai and working knowledge of English
