Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need more than 40 countries globally. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Emergency Support and Referral Officer

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts when visiting field locations.

Duration: July 2023 (with possible extension of contract)

Salary range: 30,000 – 40,000 THB (+ benefits) based on education and experience

Main Responsibilities and Duties (shortened version)

Lead the team in assisting Local Partners to plan and conduct rapid need assessments in response to emergency situations in target locations.
In close coordination with the Project Coordinator, assess and advise project on support for emergency requests from the Local Partners.
Plan and coordinate necessary trainings related to emergency response for project partners with the support of project team.
Provide technical advice and expertise to project team and local partners if required.
Collect emergency related information from project target locations and update to Project Coordinator.
Work with Local Partners to consider Safety and Security measures and operating procedure related to emergency responses in the field.
Ensure the activities are implemented effectively and in line with frameworks in association with partners and team.
Prepare and submit monthly reports with activity progress and accurate data to the Project Coordinator.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

University degree on Public Health, and other health-related degree, Social Science.
3 – 5 years of working experience in humanitarian work and emergency response.
Experience working in health or Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) field in rural area
Familiarity with safety and security awareness and precautions for responders in the field.
Familiarity with Thai health system and hospital referrals, direct experience with patient referral considered an advantage.
Experience working with CBOs, INGOs, and NGOs
Experience with stock management and logistics considered an advantage.
Fluency in Thai and Karen (speaking, reading, and writing).
Excellent command of English, Burmese or Karenni is an advantage.
