The various modules of this course will focus on the new elements of the 2030 Agenda; how to implement and develop strategies to localise the agenda; and the role of data in the review and follow-up framework.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will:
Benefit from an in-depth understanding of the 2030 Agenda including the features and role of the SDG results framework, means of implementation and global partnerships;
Be able to analyse the role of the UN as well as other stakeholders in supporting national implementation of the 2030 Agenda;
Be equipped with an understanding the SDG review and follow-up framework;
Demonstrate an improved understanding of the role they can play at a personal and institutional level in contributing to the implementation of the SDGs.
Increased knowledge and skills of participants to incorporate SDGs into their projects/programs.
Increased motivation of program/project professionals to use outputs and outcomes (aggregate reports) from available data in making better management decision
Improved understanding on project/program designing, planning and implementation for better results.
Mr.Muhammad Waqqas has more than 15 years of international experience from Europe, Africa and Asia for Islamic Relief, UNDP, WFP, OCHA, Care International, Welthungerhilfe and Cesvi INGOs. He has worked with SDGs and Results Based Management one way or the other continuously since 2014 starting as planning and monitoring advisor in UNDP and subsequently working as a trainer and consultant establishing SDGs and RBM systems in a long range of programmes and sectors both in the Turkey as well as in UK. He has extensive experience as SDGs trainer using a wide variety mixed learning tools, training managers and employees in ministries, municipalities, universities, International NGOs and the private sector in project management, participatory planning and monitoring, Theory of Change, Logical Framework on RBM approach, stakeholder analysis. Additionally, he is part of Humanitarian Development Academy UK as trainer and course coordinator. Since 2017, he served as consultant for the International Institute of Peace and Development Studies Bangkok, Thailand for International training of trainers on SDGs and Result Based Management Monitoring and Evaluation.
